if certain emoji (eg. 📱, 👨‍❤️‍💋‍👨 and 🟢) are part of the message the offset variable will get out of sync. and the formatting will be off by one character.

It doesn't happen with all emoji and many of them aren't emoji making use of zero with joiners.
