Simulate/Fake/Mock/Automate egui elements?

Is there any way to drive egui with fake events? Either by providing raw input events or by referencing elements by id and simulating clicks, value changes and drags?

I build an elaborate interface and I would like to script some functionality for some testing. Driving the application via egui would be much quicker for me right now than implementing scripting support in the application itself.
