is it possible to deprecate the gperftools? #25592
Comments
Please do not deprecate gperftools as it still the easiest way of running envoy on stock Raspberry Pi OS. Have a look at the discussion in #23339 or #15235. The underlying issue of a differently sized page table size not being detected by Google's tcmalloc implementation is still not solved. If gperftools is deprecated the only way of running envoy would be to recompile the kernel every time Raspberry Pi OS is updated. |

tcmalloc from github.com/google/tcmalloc is used by default on the linux for a long time. Is it possbile to deprecate the gperftools to make the deps more clean?
