Feature to turn off remote purge

Would it be possible to provide an option to turn off the rclone delete and rclone rmdirs functionality while retaining the removal of events from the database based on the retention time?

This would be helpful for those using functionality like S3 Lifecycle rules to manage file retention over longer timeframes.
