  • I've asked for help in the Mist Gitter before filing this issue.

So not only has Mist bankrupted by computers hard drive twice (and cost me £200 pounds in the process) I cant access my Etherum or KIN, which I'm looking to sell. Obviously the price has dipped and I've been looking to sell since June. How can I access these coins - I have the unique key number and enough is enough really.

Version: `0.0.0`
OS & Version: windows/linux/osx
Node version: `geth 0.0.0`
Number of blocks synchronized: 0

Did you try to sync with light mode (select the light node option from the Develop menu)?

This problem could have many reasons. For instance a full node can currently only be used with a fast disk (SSD). Furthermore you need to check that your connection/firewall etc was correctly configured and is working. Full nodes could take several days/weeks to sync. Using the light mode could be much faster, but as far as I know there are not too many peers yet that serve the light "clients" (it's increasing fortunately).

Syncronisation issues are discussed here: #3097 ,

Altnernatively, you could use myetherwallet or mycrypto to get quickly access to your tokens (you probably need to upload the UTC file and enter the password, please make sure that you use the correct - not-scam - sites and if you are paranoid you could use these tools to test if your keystore file and password work even if your are disconnected from the internet/offline)

I have tried. The Ruby (light test network) ate up 60 GB in no time. Disaster. I'll check myetherwallet and my crypto as Mist is a total disgrace.
