Hello! I think that line should be:

sigma3=a3-Y;

Instead of, ".-" is not supported in matlab:

ml-class-assignments/ex4.Neural_Network_Learning/mlclass-ex4/nnCostFunction.m

sigma3 = a3.-Y;
