What does it exactly mean? Is it possible to to track/log time by adding the start time(From) and end time(To) of some activity e.g. on project or issue?

Thanks a lot

Redmine allows you to add custom fields for some stuff like issues, spent time, projects, and so on (Administration->Custom fields).
This feature only add those fields, that you could have added, to the insert form.

Thanks eyp! I was thinking if it is possible to use it somehow to log time by adding start and end time of activity... Don't you have any idea how to do that in Redmine?

For activities do you mean issues?

yes issues

But you have a start date for issues then you could add a custom field (finish date) to issues if you don't want to use the 'Due date' for that.

I am not speaking about date. but the exact time.
I have discussed my problems already here: http://www.redmine.org/boards/2/topics/41367?r=41401#message-41401 , but I have not found any solution.

I see...
One question, what happens if you have been working on a bug from 9.00AM to 13.00PM and from 16:00PM to 18:00PM. Do you need all periods slices reported?, don't you?

You need something like this #1, don't you?

I wouldn't say. We have people who are not working with Eclipse or people who are at the meetings during the day. We have some special categories of issues in Redmine like "meeting" and I would like to report that e.g. yesterday I was from 8:00 to 9:00 at the meeting of Project 1 and then from 9:00 to 15:00 at the meeting regarding Project 2 and from 15:00 to 16:30 I was working on bug of Project 4.

I mean you need some start/stop button for issues

I can live without start and stop button. I need possibility to report time on issues by logging time From/To not just by logging number of hours. This is how we log time in excel now: https://db.tt/u2Lgvgxx

Yes, I know what you mean. Now it isn't possible with Redmine because custom fields don't support datetimes but dates :/
Also, adding that functionality to this plugin would need to change lot of things, so it isn't a trivial enhancement. Let me think about it...
