UDM(P) and IPTV - no IP on ARRIS 2853

Hello guys!
I would to ask you how should I configure my UDM(P) machine. I'm a new user therefore, be understanding with me :)
I don't have any modem to get Internet. Now I use old Asus Router and the ethernet cable is directly connected to router. Settings for IPTV below:

I have a static IP which I setup on UDM(P) + gateway, DNS etc. I created a VLAN with ID 505 for IPTV, enable IMGP Snooping . Then created a profile and assign it to LAN #1. I installed all necessary software and start configuring iptv proxy by assistant:
Port through which IPTV traffic enters the router:
WAN 1 (RJ45)
WAN 2 (SFP+)

Is IPTV traffic carried over a separate VLAN?
Yes

ID of VLAN which carries IPTV traffic:
505 is the same as I configured manually on UDM Pro

Name of the IPTV VLAN interface:
IPTV - the same as I configured manually on UDM Pro

IP ranges from which the IPTV traffic originates:
192.168.2.1/24 - the same as I configured manually on UDM Pro. For LAN I have 192.168.1.1

DHCP options to send when requesting an IP address:
i have no idea what should I put here...

LAN interfaces on which IPTV should be made available:

Enable quickleave for igmpproxy?
Yes - I don't know what this option do

Enable igmpproxy debugging?

Can someone help me please? I observed when I connect Arris to UDM Pro I don't see the light blinking and Arris show on tv information:
Error 1: No network available. Please check that the cable is connected on the STB and gateway.
After restart or shutdown I have to manually run IPTV proxy once again or it will start automatically?

What is the ISP you are trying to connect to?

The IP ranges should not point to your local network, but to the network ranges of your IPTV provider.
I also recommend you use the default DHCP options (seeing the options on your ASUS router).

Still doesn't work. Right now I have figured out why the light doesn't work. I have to change the Link Speed to Autonegotiation (default). After that the light start blinking. In topology I see the arris device but with ip: 192.168.2.57.
In profile for this VLAN I set:
Domain Name: blank
Device Isolation: Off
IGMP Snooping: On
Auto Scale Network: On
DHCP Mode: DHCP Server
DHCP Gateway IP: Auto

I run the assistant using dpkg-reconfigure udm-iptv and set
IP ranges from which the IPTV traffic originates:
0.0.0.0/0
DHCP options to send when requesting an IP address:
-O staticroutes -V IPTV_RG
and rest of option as I mentioned.
Now on TV I have a white screen and nothing more :( Any ideas?

How to check if everything is properly installed?
i have tried found the file /etc/udm-iptv.conf in UniFi OS but the file doesn't exist or I'm doing something wrong...

You could check with systemctl status udm-iptv for the status of your daemon

or check the debug logs with journalctl -u udm-iptv

You did select the correct Vlan to which the proxy must route? In your case Vlan 505 (which I should have named differently, since 505 is the Vlan from your ISP. A local Vlan and a ISP Vlan doesn't need to match.

ie. my ISP send iptv on Vlan 37, but my STB is at Vlan 10.

I'm already lost...
So once again. I connect the ethernet cable to WAN1 (as I have on asus router). Set the same IP, DNS, Default gate (router), Subnet Mask as I see on Asus router (for WAN), clone MAC Address. On UDM PRO in Networks I created a VLAN named IPTV with ID 505 (base on what I see on asus router), IGMP Snooping enabled, autoscale on, automatic DHCP, DHCP Mode DHCP Server, DHCP Gateway IP auto. Rest of options are disabled. DHCP Options - no records.
In Advanced Features I created a new profile named IPTV Profile. Settings below:

What I observed when I leave empty value in IP ranges from which the IPTV traffic originates and DHCP options to send when requesting an IP address I see logo of my IPTV with message please wait. After 2-3s white screen...

Try to enable debug setting in igmpproxy (last question during dpkg-reconfigure udm-iptv)
Also you say you have the receiver on vlan 505 but selected br0 as the lan network this should be br505
But as long as you do not receive a op adres on the iptv interface this is not going to work.

Check I really don’t know why you’re not obtaining an IP address.

There is a configuration error btw (not that it will fix your problem, but IPTV_LAN_INTERFACES="br0" must be br505 I think (other vlan on your LAN side)

can you also enable debug logging en send the output? With one of the commands we gave you earlier?

Also I see that the iptv profile has vlan 505 tagged? This should be the native vlan. Remember the vlan on the wan is not the same as the vlan on the lan interface. By using 505 on the inside it is confusing.
If I understand the info given by you correctly, the isp delivered internet native on the wan interface (without vlan) and iptv on the same interface tagged on vlan 505. (You never provided screenshots of the wan interface of the old router)

@reinierjh so how should the IPTV Profile looks?
The native VLAN means create in UDM Pro in Advanced Features Network Isolation and remove the previous VLAN 505 which was created in "Networks"?

In the Asus router I connect the cable from the wall to WAN port (automatic DHCP) and the Arris decoder is connected to LAN #4.

For the time being, forget my vlan remarks. First make igmpproxy work..
I see in the asus config that you should use dhcp on the wan interface. In the beginning of this thread you said you set a static in on the wan interface.. can you make sure dhcp is enabled on the wan interface. Some isp wil not route traffic if there is no dhcp requests. And again enable Igmp debug and give us the output of udm-iptv-diag. And try to keep the changes you make as small as possible.

so now I have a DHCP by default on my UDM Pro. My ISP add my Mac address and device can obtain correct IP address. But still I cannot setup it correctly.
Im wondering how it works on Asus router. In my opinion:
WAN (internet not tagged, IPTV tagged 505) -> Asus router (port WAN) -> LAN 1,2,3 Internet and Wifi + LAN 4 tagged IPTV (VLAN 505).
I don't know how the asus router manage IP and what IP has Arris decoder.
UDM PRO
WAN (internet not tagged, IPTV tagged 505) -> UDM(P) (port WAN=eth9) -> default LAN from 1-8.
I want to connect Arris decoder to LAN1 so i have to create a profile. Base on Asus router the default network on UDM(P) is LAN.
First question is: should I enable IGMP Snooping in default LAN? In my opinion Yes (base what I see on Asus router).
So the profile should looks like this?

When I use this profile I see logo of my IPTV and after few seconds white screen.

Instead of using "systemctl status udm-ipv"
Use "grep udm-iptv /var/log/syslog" shows al the loglines from the udm-iptv service
Also use "udm-iptv-diag" (as asked multiple times) also make sure 'IPTV_IGMPPROXY_DEBUG="true"' is at the end of the /etc/udm-iptv.conf file.

I think you should ask your internet provider (or look it up on their website) how IPTV should be configured.
I looks like you don't use routed IPTV but that you use bridged iptv. This means that the Arris uses vlan 505 directly. How to configure this with the UDM-Pro i don't know. The package here is for routed IPTV.

You are not getting an IP address on the WAN side, so it won’t matter what you specify for the other settings.

You need to check the DHCP options, because your ISP right now is not responding to any DHCP requests.
Are you sure VLAN 505 is correct? Did you connect the cable from your ISP directly to the WAN port on your UDMP?

yes, my cable is directly connected to the WAN port on UDM(P). My ISP has added Mac address yesterday and now the DHCP on WAN works fine.

My ISP mentioned about 10.205.59.0/25 is that correct? I'm not able to set this value in DHCP in the VLAN Settings.

No, you are confusing your local network with VLAN 505 and VLAN 505 on the WAN side.

You are not getting a DHCP response from your ISP over WAN VLAN 505. That’s why I am asking whether 505 is actually correct.

I agree with you that no ip problem is the issue because I see logo of my tv and after few seconds white screen...

You need to ask your ISP how to get an IP address on WAN VLAN 505. Right now, they can’t see your device and your decoder cannot talk to the IPTV network because you don’t have an IP address.
