I like to work in a mixed environment, a dynamic environment can be useful to generate ideas and concepts while a more quiet environment for learning and solving specific issues. I find it helpful to take plenty of breaks to take my mind off a problem which will often actually be key in solving it.
The role I usually take in a team:
I have held a small leadership role in teams in my work as an architect, internally with colleagues as well as a coordination role externally with other consultants and contractors. However, I am mainly interested in collaborating with peers and exploring everyone’s interest, happy to follow another’s vision and leadership but also comfortable stepping into that role if required.
My communication style:
I like to chat and am quite communicative with peers on projects and sharing things I have learned or asking for help. When I have my head down solving a problem I am less chatty though :P
What I value:
I value honesty and reliability, being able to ask for help or own up about not knowing how to solve certain issues, making mistakes and being open about it. In terms of reliability I value it when someone is true to their word about delivering things or even not being able to deliver certain things and engaging in that discussion before it can cause delays.
What people misunderstand about me:
Sometimes I will speak too quickly before thinking and get stuck in a loop of defending certain things that I may have said earlier without thinking it through, do not hesitate to interrupt me if that is the case.
How I like to get my feedback:
I like to hear constructive feedback while also some positive points (if you can find any!)
Technical strengths & weaknesses:
Strengths are programming, data, maths
Weaknesses could be better communicator, soft skills
Interests (programming or otherwise!):
Comics, golf, algorithms, design, art, cycling
