Hey

New to this excellent tool.

But in my installation I'm not getting the context menu /Shell extension from the desktop. There's no 'Display Profiles' menu.

I don't know if I'm alone. But I tried searching and found no other reports.
As a side note: I'm running Display Fusion too - maybe there's a conflict?

Hello, I think I have the same issue. Using Display Fusion too and there is no context menu.

You can still use the program directly until I fix this.

BTW, do you have the context menu when right clicking on executable files? Game executable files for example.

Well, no context menu on Exe files.

I don't understand who Helios is working. It's only show me the current setup but nothing I can do except "clone" the actual setup

Did I missed something ?

Edit : Uninstalled DisplayFusion, do the same ... no context menu at all

Also when I'm cloning the "Current" setup, I have a [Current] (1) created but the [Current] disappear

Unfortunately, we don't have the edit functionality yet. So, for now, you need to clone profiles to be able to switch to them later.

For example, now that you are in the Surround mode, just clone the current profile and rename it to surround. Then switch to extended mode via Nvidia Control Panel and clone the current profile again and rename to Extended. After that, you can switch between the two without opening the Nvidia Control Panel.

For rename, slow double click a profile. Like how you rename files and folders in explorer. F2 should also work I think.

I am currently working on the new UI that will allow you to modify profiles directly in the app. But we still have some underlying problems with the surround display detection that should be fixed. I hope you don't end up struggling with those. Make sure your monitor driver installed.

And yeah, when you have a profile that is similar to your current profile, it will disappear and only your saved profile remains. You should rename your profile to make it easier to find and recognize. Not the best UX design. Sorry.

No, no contexts on .exe either.
(I have no problems using the app, since it's easy to open it and do whatever that is needed)

@TrakDah Thanks for reporting that. Since this means that the ShellExtension is not installed, maybe uninstalling HDM, doing a restart, installing it again and doing another restart fixes it. But it is probably a lot of work. I will try to find a way around this.

@freeman59 Feel free to open another issue if you have more questions or problems about the application functionalities.

I did that before reporting :)

I love this tool so much.

Why is circular timer so long, when the actual switch only takes a few seconds? It seems it just sits there for a long time doing nothing. Is it possible to shorten it?

Same issue with shell extension BTW, even after trying the restart/reinstall/restart. Wonder if this has anything to do with the initial popup from Windows 10 describing this as an "unknown application", due to it being unsigned.

There was a conversation about that timer at #19 and we have a pull request waiting on this from one of the fine people here. So yeah, in the next version it will be shorter probably. I changed a lot in the next version and it should be overall faster in many respects.

I still need to solve the problem with the shell extensions and the setup process before releasing a new version. You can watch this repository so that you get a notification when the next version released since we don't have an auto-updater yet.

Thank you for your patience.

Hi, on a fresh installation on Windows 10 2004, I don't have anything about HDM in the context menu, right click on the desktop or on a .exe application.
However, this would be an indispensable feature, will the program be updated please?
thank you
