Its a virtualized DS920 on ESXI. How do i have to map the drive, with an NVME Controller, SATA, SCSI or PCIE Passstrough?

It depends on what you want. If you have an M.2 port for an NVME SSD and you're not using it on ESXi, you can passthroug it. The same for data disks.
If you want to emulate NVME, add one NVME controller.
If you need more help with settings, please ask on the forum https://xpenology.com/forum/

Just tested, DSM918 can't recognise the PCIe SSD, but it is shown via terminal with command : udevadm info /dev/nvme0n1

P: /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1b.0/0000:01:00.0/nvme/nvme0/nvme0n1
N: nvme0n1
E: DEVNAME=/dev/nvme0n1
E: DEVPATH=/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1b.0/0000:01:00.0/nvme/nvme0/nvme0n1
E: DEVTYPE=disk
E: MAJOR=259

E: PHYSDEVDRIVER=nvme

Tried on my DS920+ , there are no file of /etc.defaults/.extensionPorts or /etc.defaults/extensionPorts
I added them and configed. But it does not work.
