Hello everyone and thanks in advance for the support you are going to give me. First. let me say that before posting I carefully read other post having related issue. No answer for my case found.So, here I am, still not hopeless :)

Whenever I mine with the GPU (with the CPU everything goes smoothly) 0 shares are accepted and I have a Good result score of 0%.

Hardware configuration:

  • CPU AMD Ryzen 7 2700x
  • GPU Radeon RX 580
  • MSI B350 tomahawk
  • etc ..

software configuration:

  • Ubuntu server 16.04.4 LTS with Linux kernel 4.4.0-128-generic
  • cmake 3.5.1
  • amgpu-pro installed from the AMD website carefully chosen for Ubuntu 16.04.4 LTS (amdgpu-pro-18.20-606296.tar.xz) with the following code:
    tar –xvf amdgpu-pro-18.10-572953.tar.xz; cd amdgpu-pro-18.10-572953; ./amd-pro-install –-opencl=legacy –-headless
  • xmr-stak-amd 2.4.5 b3f79de

I compiled the xmr-stak-amd to mine only with GPU as follows:
cmake -DCUDA_ENABLE=OFF -DCPU_ENABLE=OFF -DOpenCL_ENABLE=ON -DOpenCL_INCLUDE_DIR=/opt/amdgpu-pro/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/ -DOpenCL_LIBRARY=/opt/amdgpu-pro/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libOpenCL.so ..

Everything went smoothly and I can run the executable without any error, output below:

xmr-stak 2.4.5 b3f79de

What I've tried:

  • Compiling new kernel 4.13
  • Mine in different pools
  • tweak intensity level (from very low to high)
  • Mine with different software (xmrig-amd)
  • sudo sysctl -w vm.nr_hugepages=128

Nothing worked untill now. Any ideas?
Thank you

Bests,

Michele

Hi there, seems you're connecting to a monero pool and your configuration is on cryptonight coin(generic), remove pool.txt and run xmr-stak that again, this time enter monero7 as the coin to mine.
OR EDIT pools.txr and change that single line

i would suggest getting the latest version (2.4.7) to keep things on sync.

Regards.

Hello,

I have the same problem. In pools.txt, "currency" is set to "monero7".

Mining only with CPU (Threadripper 1950X) is fine as always, mining only with GPU returns 0 valid results, even though it keeps saying "New block detected". Waiting hours for even one valid result to show up doesn't help. Mining with both, only the CPU returns valid results.

This is on Linux Manjaro, using AMD RX580 and xmr-stak-amd v2.4.7-c5f0505 from AUR:
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/xmr-stak-opencl-amd/
It uses the open source amdgpu driver with the opencl bits imported from amdgpu-pro as per package opencl-amd:
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/opencl-amd/

Hash rate on GPU same as for OP.

Hi,

I'm also on Archlinux, xmr-stak 2.4.7 and openclamd 18.30, with this settings :

// gpu: Ellesmere memory:3130
// compute units: 36
{ "index" : 1,
"intensity" : 1624, "worksize" : 8,
"affine_to_cpu" : 1, "strided_index" : 2, "mem_chunk" : 8,
"comp_mode" : false
},

I'm capable oh getting about 75% good results.

If it can help.

Same here, @pasengier . Running with --noCPU and your settings but intensity at 864 results in around 75% good results at 623.8 H/s.
