...and this has been the case for quite some time.

I use the Tubular app because there is no share button on the media page of the CCC site that would allow video links to be shared with the Kore app. Initially, the sendtokodi addon on the client tries to resolve the stream parameters, and it looks promising at first. However, it eventually fails with the following error:

Error: was not able to extract manifest or all-in-one stream

sendtokodi addon is always up to date due to the sendtokodi repository.
