Expected behavior
When I want to place a text using the Text tool, I usually want its leftmost vertically centered point to be anchored to the cursor position.
Current behavior
When I place a text using the Text tool, the top left corner is anchored to the cursor position. This is annoying because there's no way to get a good enough feel for the height of the placed text until I place it.

Actually there is a way that I use every single time: select the text tool, move the mouse to where you want the text to be, click and hold and then the textbox appears and you can position it perfectly.
I agree that the correct behaviour should be that the textbox is created so that the tip of the mouse be at the left-muddle part of the textbox for LTR language and right-middle for the RTL
