The small startup screen and loading messages are shown but the window does not show up.

After "export -n SESSION_MANAGER" the last Qt-message vanished but window still doesn't show up.

System is default Gnome-install of Debian 12, up-to-date.

I have this 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation HD Graphics 620 (rev 02)

So it's possibly not the problem.

Do you also get
Gtk-Message: 19:28:04.402: Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module"
when running
flatpak -v run org.freecadweb.FreeCAD?

Any idea how debug this problem?

flatpak repair did not solve the problem.

flatpak -v run --command=sh --devel org.freecadweb.FreeCAD exits after some seconds as well. That's strange, right?

if that happen, then there is something else. Anything in journalctl -r ?

The command just exits without any user interaction. Any idea?

So I think I solved the problem.
FreeCAD and FreeCAD --devel exited with exit code 137, which means it received SIGKILL.

Giving it the permission to run in background solved the problem.

Don't know what the underlying problem is.

this sounds like a portal issue rather than a freecad issue, ok to close?

or do we need to do something on our end to give freecad background permission by default @hfiguiere ?
