I just switched from using Gnome to KDE Plasma. I cannot use VLC Flatpak anymore. Packman packages run fine (OpenSUSE). Tried debugging instructions from flatpak site and that lead to me installing the runtime Sdk which allowed me to open a shell inside the sandbox which then caused konsole to freeze and then take down the whole Wayland session with it.

I'm on Linux Mint 22, and had it fail for sudo apt vlc, but it did not fail for sudo apt vlc-plug-qt!
I discovered that for sudo apt vlc, that when I ran vlc --help, it dumped the help lines, without crashing, hmm.
What finally fixed it for me was:

vlc --reset-config
