Describe the bug
Extremely high idle cpu usage. Tops one core at 100% constantly.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

build in release mode and run

Expected behavior
low idle cpu usage around 5%

Platform
QEMU x86-64 CPU: i9 9960x

Could not reproduce. Could you try adding "volatile" to the hlt in pit::sleep? That is an error that should be fixed anyway.
