Message passing to kafka fails with zstd compression codec

I am trying to send messages from fluentd to kafka using compression codec zstd

The above config works well for gzip, snappy and lz4 compressions. but it fails for zstd with below error 😟

Fluentd version: 1.16.9 (tried with 1.19.0 as well)
gem Rdkafka version: 0.12.1 (tried with 0.21.2 as well)
gem fluent-plugin-kafka: 0.19.3

I wanted to confirm that whether the rdkafka gem by default supports zstd compression or not ?
