Find a tool where users can create the translated gettext files online.

What do you think about https://weblate.org? They provide a free hosting for open source projects and their git integration seams nice (i didn't try it myself).

An online tool offers a lower bar for other contributors. weblate seems good. I've used transifex at some point, which was good as well.

We use Crowdin for Foodsoft, so that could also be considered.
