Feature Summary

Media/File downloads started in browser doesn't have any visibility on progress of download, size of downloaded file, percentage of file downloaded and current download tasks.

Feature Research

Problem encountered while downloading files from browser.
Improvement in functionality will give a better control over download management and there will be no need to have a external download manager.

Alternative Solution

Possible Solution:
Update Browser's inbuilt download manager with below functions:

  1. Show download task in download manager (in progress/current and completed tasks)
  2. Show the progress bar for download tasks (with file size, complete percentage and remaining size)
  3. Give ability to user to pause, resume or cancel download task from download manager.
  4. When starting download from browser give option to rename file and change the download location.
  5. Create menu to select default download location for files.

Target beneficiaries

All users who are using Iceraven browser will benifit feom this. They will no longer need to have two applications for downloading file (browser and external download manager). Also this will increase user base of iceravennas it will match the features provided by other browsers in market.
Could you please take up this request and work on this. This will really help a lot.

Thanks in advance. You are doing a great work with Iceraven.
