Hi @agc-nmdc14 , you have to understand oriention data as part of the required input of GemPy. That does not mean that you cannot use GemPy now: if you have no orientation data at all, it is sufficient to add "neutral" orientations (no dip) somewhere outside of the target domain. Under normal circumstances, this should not be an issue. What do you want to use the bathymetry data for? Just as a "topography" to intersect your model or actually as surface points? Both cases should be doable. I hope this helps :) |

I have a question regarding the feasibility of generating 3D models without incorporating orientation and fault data. Specifically, my company primarily works with borehole data, which we use to construct 3D soil profiles for volumetric calculations and 2D cross-sections. Additionally, bathymetric data would need to be included as an input for these models.
Despite my efforts, I was unable to find a similar example addressing this use case. Could you please clarify whether it is possible to generate 3D models under these conditions? Any guidance or references would be greatly appreciated.
