GT Server should have an option in its configuration to select the most appropriate type of temporal definition for data layers with a temporal dimension. The current implementation only supports time period lists whereas the WMS 1.3.0 and WCS 1.1.1 specifications offer the possibility to define the time dimension of a layer via time intervals. Table C.2 of the WMS 1.3.0 specification and Figure 7 and Tables 13 to 15 of the WCS 1.1.1 specification illustrate how a time interval should be defined in the WMS GetCapabilities and WCS DescribeCoverage documents.
