Markdown code block not preserving empty newlines

Hi.

While testing this theme, I faced a really odd issue and it's quite annoying.
The extra newlines over a markdown code block don't seem to remain there for the page output.

Here is what I have as page content:

And this is what it becomes in the output webpage:

Notice that the excess newline isn't there for the output page, although I didn't have this issue with quark theme.
Another thing is, for learn4 theme I had to install Highlight plugin (Wasn't essentially required for quark theme)
