Gitlens hangs during fetch from remote repository #1649

Versions

  • VS Code version: 1.60.1 x64
  • OS Versions: Windows 10.0.19042 Build 19042
  • WSL version: 2, Kernel version: 5.10.16
    • ... with Linux distro: Amazon Linux 2
  • Gitlens version: 11.6.0
  • Git version (in WSL2): 2.32.0

Description

  • Gitlens hangs whenever I fetch from a remote repository. "Fetching" progress banner comes up and never ends.

Steps to reproduce:

  • Fetch from remote repository in Gitlens Repositories or Remotes view.

Related

Also tried:

  • Uninstalling and reinstalling VS Code
  • Uninstalling and reinstalling Gitlens

I moved to developing in a Docker container within WSL2. After installing GitLens in the container this problem went away and I can no longer reproduce. Don't know if it was a difference in configuration between the container and non-container versions.

I did hit the separate problem reported in #1027 but I was able to work around it.
