Some repos are huge and a full clone can take very long.
Example: https://github.com/mozilla/gecko-dev

We should investigate whether an initial shallow clone with inflating the rest of the history asynchronously can speed up that process.

Quick tests showed that it doesn't seem to make a huge difference. Closing this for now.
