I knew someone had proposed that somewhere 😆. I'm okay with Slack. |
For the record, https://gitx-app.slack.com. @gitx/core I'll need an email from you guys. |
Can this be made public, e.g. using https://github.com/rauchg/slackin? (example here: http://slack.digitaloxford.com/). If I can be invited to and given the right permissions on Slack, I'm happy to set up the slackin (rjmunro@arjam.net). You can still have private channels and chats for just project admins or whatever you need. Alternatively, Slack is not a perfect tool for this kind of use case - the free version gets a bit rubbish if there are hundreds of users (https://medium.freecodecamp.com/so-yeah-we-tried-slack-and-we-deeply-regretted-it-391bcc714c81) . An alternative is https://gitter.im/, which has some nice integration with github, for example letting you sign in with your github account by default, and giving you a list of github projects that you are involved with that already have gitter communities. |
Whatever happened with this? I've also enabled Discussions in all the repos. |
I've got a matrix room for this project. Element.io is a pretty great web/app, unlimited history, kind of like a modern irc. |
That time inevitably comes when some yahoo (points finger at self) finds themself wanting a higher-bandwidth communication medium. What do you guys think about having a GitX Slack?
