typeCheck('[Object]', [{}]); // true

typeCheck('String | [String] | [Object]', [{}]); // false

Obviously the second result is wrong.

This lib so simple to use, shame its not maintained ATM. If you dont have time to work on these issues maybe you could seek maintainers to help you. Its a great lib. Thanks
