Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe

Reducing the brightness of the canvas will also make the image borders harder to see.

Describe the solution you'd like

The border of the image and the image itself should be considered two separate canvases so that the borders of the image are always visible regardless of the brightness.

Additional context

This feature is low priority unless users consider this to be an issue.
