Q: The launcher always starts the game and doesn't let me go into the settings - how can I disable Auto-Login?
To disable Auto-Login, please hold the shift key on your keyboard while starting the launcher.
XIVLauncher uses injection to access the main FFXIV process for in-game features and Rich Presence. This can cause false positives for some antivirus programs. Please add any needed exclusions if you want to use these features or disable them.
Of course, this is your decision - however, I'm doing my best to stay transparent and make this launcher the most secure. Feel free to browse the source code and build it yourself!
Please make sure the check box "Enable experimental UID cache" is not ticked in the Settings->About tab.
XIVLauncher tries to read the game while it's running to find the location where the information is stored usually about your character (name, job, level, location, etc). When the game updates Square Enix usually mixes up where this location is. Therefore, it takes a bit of time to find where the new addresses are.

This means you don't have the proper Visual C++ runtime installed - Try installing the Visual Studio 2015, 2017 and 2019 vc_redist.x86.exe from this page. If that does not work, try installing this older version as well..
