Camera module - enable settings

Hi,
thank you for the program. I would like to configure camera module settings on capture. Set exposure/gain etc. I tried executing "raspivid -ex off" to turn off automatic exposure with runtime. Exec() shell command from processing sketch but it did not bind with the ongoing video stream. Is there any way how to interface with camera settings such as gain/exposure and other raspivid config or similar parameters? Thank you in advance for any hint
