What steps will reproduce the problem?
I don't really understand what's going on here.
Run tests with:
go test -v -short -cpu 1,2,4,8,16,256 std
repeatedly.
What do you see instead?

This is the second time I've seen this failure. The first one was a few days ago.
/build is a tmpfs. Hopefully that doesn't matter.
I can't imagine why append.txt would disappear while path/filepath tests are running.
Nothing else should be doing anything in /build/go.tip.
