There is open discussion regarding multiplexed protocols and a standard way to handle them in python-trio/trio/issues/467.

@nonsleepr also mentioned on the trio channel an attempt he had made to solve this which was reminiscent of the trio.Queue.

He was nice enough to provide a gist of this multiplexer 👍

It'd be great to eventually use whatever makes it into trio core.
