Fixes #704 by just removing the
update-notifierdependency all together. This was largely used to give users a message usinggtsfrom the CLI that they need to upgrade. Realistically, we expect most users to be usingnpx, or to havegtsinstalled in thepackage.jsonand to use it fromnpm runscripts.This is a no-win situation because:
update-notifierhas a security vuln in the previous major versionI don't think this dependency was worth it.
