new / updated slug coincides with an already existing article

I cannot find anything in the specifications about situations where the slug of a new article has already been used for another article, or when the title of an article is changed and the updated slug coincides with an already existing article.

It seems to me a basic functionality that an article can be bookmarked and also found when the title is changed.

Can anyone comment on this?
