What happened:
When adding new packages to @grafana/ui, following error is thrown:An unexpected error occurred: "expected workspace package to exist for .... Therefore it is not possible to add any new packages.

Downgrading yarn to v 1.18 fixes the issue. More info: yarnpkg/yarn#7807.

Environment:

  • Grafana version: master
  • OS Grafana is installed on: OS X

Confirmed that this is still the case for yarn 1.22.4
