I'm evaluating Netmaker for the purpose of linking some bare-metal machines at a handful of sites.
I've been impressed with the ease of setup and administration, and I'd really like to recommend it, however I haven't had success getting a wireguard handshake between a test host behind a NAT and another behind two layers of NAT. I understand that this scenario is challenging for UDP hole punching and the alternatives seem to be:
A) Relays (pro license only)
B) TURN (which automatically installs with the community addition)
However, TURN didn't seem to work for me out of the box. When I came to GitHub to look for troubleshooting advice, it seems some other folks may have been having issues with the TURN service as well.
I also notice that TURN seems to have been recently removed from the main development branch.
So I am wondering what the plan is. Should I stop trying to make TURN work?
