I'd recommend creating a fork and running the project once to get an idea about the placement and positioning of the logo with respect to relative sizes. Nice work by the way.

The logo is good for branding purpose on blog articles, forums etc, but IMO, a concise logo / symbol (probably with a 1:1 aspect ratio) would be more appropriate to use. Also, it's not necessary to use the project name. Maybe the initials could be used, or something completely different, as long as it looks good enough and isn't congested in small size
