Detail of contact

(See https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Lacking_proper_attribution/Example_email for an example letter to send)

Standard OSM letter sent to webmaster@natureindex.com; natureindex@nature.com

Standard email updated with following text

_However, I noticed that the map seems to lack the proper credit, especially when you press the “Show Legend” button. It only lists © Mapbox whereas it should show ©Mapbox © OpenStreetMap Contributors

OpenStreetMap's license requires that you both credit OpenStreetMap and make users aware of the data license (by linking to our copyright page).

In this case it looks like your developers have just failed to add the correct attribution on the main map when the legend is showing. I would suggest that you ask them to correct this error._

If you show/hide the legend the OpenStreetMap attribution is always there, it's just below the legend when the legend is shown, yes there is a second Mapbox attribution above the legend but that's irrelevant since the "OpenStreetMap" attribution is always shown (albeit lacking the "contributors" part, but they still say OpenStreetMap).

^ applies to the first link, the supplements maps are different and don't have the OpenStreetMap attribution.

Also in the first link, if you print the page then the OSM attribution is not printed. It seems to disappear. The Mapbox attribution shows all the time so it seems reasonable to also have OSM remain in view.

Hi @tastrax ! Thank you for being the first person to file an issue here :)

I've taken the liberty to edit it to match the template for easier processing.

I agree with @andrewharvey - the attribution is always there. The ODbL requires that the attribution is there, not really that it's shown in every instance. It sounds like they used a hack to get the attribution to work correctly.

I also agree with you on printing.

It looks like the legend has been fixed, but printing hasn't.
