This team member is responsible for producing statistical breakdowns of data sets and data cleaning tasks. Emphasis on visualization and communication of data trends using tools like Tableau or RShiny. Emphasis on applied statistical techniques especially frequentist and bayesian approaches. Tech: SQL, Tableau, R, Python.
Hack For LA brings together civic-minded technologists to build digital products, programs and services with community partners and local government to address issues in the LA region. This is done by using the web as a platform for local government and community service.
- Manage master data, including creation, updates, and deletion.
- Manage users and user roles.
- Provide quality assurance of imported data, working with quality assurance analyst if necessary.
- Commissioning and decommissioning of data sets.
- Process confidential data and information according to guidelines.
- Assist in developing reports and analysis.
- Manage and design the reporting environment, including data sources, security, and metadata.
- Support initiatives for data integrity and normalization.
- Generate reports from single or multiple systems.
- Troubleshoot the reporting database environment and reports.
- Evaluate changes and updates to source production systems.
- Train end users on new reports and dashboards.
- Provide technical expertise on data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing.
- Experience or interest in computer science.
- Work experience or interest in data analysis.
- Ability to work with stakeholders to assess potential risks.
- Ability to analyze existing tools and databases and provide software solution recommendations.
- Ability to translate business requirements into non-technical, lay terms.
- Interest or experience in handling large data sets and relational databases.
