Obtain Shape Files for Different District Types (2023)

Overview

We need to obtain new shape files for the various district types that represent stakeholders we work with once they reflect redistricting. This is part of the epic issue #118 and should be done annually until we can automate the process.

Action Items

• Save shape files updated in 2022 to the data-science repo. Folder is here

• Save shape files updated in 2023 to the Google drive folder here:

  • Neighborhood Councils (NCs) | Shape Files Here
  • Supervisory Districts | Shape Files Here
  • Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) | Shape Files Here
  • U.S. House of Representatives that serve LA | Shape Files Here
  • California State Senators that serve LA | Shape Files Here
  • California Assembly members that serve LA | Shape Files Here
  • Zip Code | Shape Files Here
  • LA Country City Boundaries | Shape Files Here

  Note that some of these (i.e. zip codes) may not be updated with redistricting.

@mru-hub I added a link to the shape files for the city boundaries for LA county above. I think these will be needed for #22 that you're working on, so please add a new subfolder in the Google Drive to include these files.
