Initial product formation steps and cleanup of project board

Overview

We need to create a plan for getting Data Science the project off the ground and in order to do that we need a brain dump from bonnie of next steps

Action Items

• review minimum steps new project creation Minimum steps for new project setup product-management#27 (see below)
• introduce Abe to Sophia and Ryan
• install wiki
• Check out the Open Community Survey project
• look through all the open issue on the data science repo

  • create a roadmap for product delivery (make a new issue here) and link it to Create a Guide: Product Roadmap knowledgebase-content#59
    • identify gaps in type of projects
    • criteria for approving new sub projects
      • e.g. caltrout
    • new sub project setup requirements
      • shareable (open source and web based free tools)
      • type of content we will need from project team members (descriptions, team info, instructions)

Minimum steps for project setup - Draft version

• Product Manager
  • Ideate on name of project (including is it available as a domain name and on socialmedia: twitter, instagram, facebook)
  • get signoff from HfLA leadership
• Hack for LA org Leader
  • Create Google Shared Drive
    • Add PM to drives
      • old
      • new
      • pm to get other people to move content from old drive to new drive
  • register domain name (if needed)
  • setup email in gsuite (nameofproject@hackforla.org)
  • setup GitHub repository
  • create the following teams for the repository (remembering to add the correct permissions for each)
    • name of repo
    • name of repo-write
    • name of repo-maintain
    • name of repo-admin
  • setup 1 password vault
    • add PM to vault
    • add project gmail to vault
• Product Manager
  • Add roster from template folder and fill out
  • Create initial issues and milestones
