We could use a clever way to keep the Slack API deployable, yet hidden from public eye.

As mentioned on Slack, link to Travis encryption which could be one option.

The deploy seems to already use Chef, so the "native" solution would be a data bag.

I'm inclined to do data bags as well, is there a chef-solo style data bag?

Got data-bags working - just need to sort the encryption piece so they remain safe
