It seems that the search functions does not work on words that are adjacent to special characters (parentheses, commas, etc). For example, on your demo page (http://harvesthq.github.io/chosen/), in the "Choose a country" example, if you type in "keeling" to find the entry "Cocos (Keeling) Islands", it does not find the result.
We are experiencing this problem wherever we have parentheses or commas or dashes, or any other special characters.
This is a browser-agnostic bug.
