This issue was originally opened by @xpolb01 as hashicorp/terraform#16564. It was migrated here as a result of the provider split. The original body of the issue is below.


Would it be possible to add a check if bucket with that name already exists when running terraform plan?

Hi @xpolb01. Now that S3 is strongly consistent, we won't run into race conditions like this.

I'm going to close this issue. If you continue to encounter this problem, please open a new issue.
