Description

On 2024-05-15 AWS announced support for Application Load Balancers (ALBs) without IPv4s for clients that can connect using just IPv6 addresses. You can either create a new dual-stack ALB without public IPv4 or modify existing ALBs to use dual-stack without public IPv4.

Affected Resource(s) and/or Data Source(s)

  • aws_lb (resource and data source)

Potential Terraform Configuration

resource "aws_lb" "test" {
  load_balancer_type = "application"
  name               = "test"
  internal           = false
  security_groups    = [aws_security_group.lb_sg.id]
  subnets            = [for subnet in aws_subnet.public : subnet.id]

  ip_address_type    = "dualstack-without-public-ipv4"
}
