I ran into the same problem on macOS. Found a workaround by using 1.4.0: |
There is a workaround - you have to open the folder that contains .tf files. But this is not optimal - I would prefer to open top folder where I have all the subfolders with all the .tf files inside. |
Here is the tracking issue on the LS, this should be relaxed in a release soon: hashicorp/terraform-ls#165 |

Clicking Install Formatter... opens a list of code extensions, with this extension being present and marked as already installed (because it has been indeed already installed). At this point, I do not know what am I supposed to do:
