Update App data, wenn App is closed

Hi,

is it possible to update app data with push notifications, when the app is closed?

What I want is to wakeup the app, when there are changes on the server, so the app can fetch the changes and schedule new notifications for it.

I believe what you are looking for can be achieved by setting content-available: 1 in your push notification payload.

You can refer to the following links for more details:

Please note that some of the documentation might be outdated, as it was inherited from the original repo. I’ve been hoping to spend some time reviewing all the documentation to clean it up and also test the various use cases.

When content-available: 1 is set, it should launch the app in the background and run the notification event trigger on('notification').

One thing to be aware of, from the documentation,

Note: if the push payload contained content-available: 1 then your notification event handler has already been called. It is up to you to handle the double event.

thank you for your answer. In Push Message Arrives with App in Background the second point says:

Then the push plugin checks to see if the app is running. If the user has killed the application, then no further processing of the push data will occur.

So it states, that nothing will happen, when the app is killed. Is that correct?
