I'd like to make a logo (small, roughly rectangular) and / or banner (larger, with some text) for the HiPS package (for the docs page and future presentations / posters).

Some variants of an idea I had, i.e. a banner showing that HiPS (sphere taken from the HiPS paper) is going to Python and / or sky image pixels.

I'm not very happy with it, mainly because it doesn't work as a logo.
For that we could try to combine the sphere somehow with the Python or Astropy logo, but just pasting o top of each other doesn't work well:

So @tboch and @adl1995 -- thoughts? other ideas?

(We don't need this for v0.1, we can take our time and add this for v1.0 at the end of GSoC in September.)

(some of the images were missing left to right arrows from copy & pasting apparently. But you get the idea)

What is we managed to draw the astropy logo on the sphere ? That might work, I'm gonna try something this week-end
