in feature branches and some 'special projects' we reference dependencies in a way that composer installs those from source.

it seems prestissimo does not parallalize those downloads. I can seee them happening one after another... is this a known limitation?

so the actual request would be to also parallize downloads related to source repositories like GIT/SVN/...

We also really need to parallalize composer with --prefer-source.
