I got a good question from a friend: Can I use the mobile app without being connected to my server?

It turns out that's not possible. But it would make sense to at least have the option. I understand that adding this feature might make the app slightly larger, but with the option available, users can decide for themselves whether to use it.

Describe the benefits this would bring to existing Hoarder users

I find it crucial to never be 'locked away' from my bookmarks. Knowing that I can’t access them without a server connection is a dealbreaker.

There are many reasons why someone might need offline access to their bookmarks. For example, imagine I don’t have internet but want to show a link with a friend. Normally, I’d open the app, find the link, and share it—but in this case, I wouldn’t be able to. I would need hotspot from him..

It’s like having a memo app where your notes aren’t saved on the device for offline use. That just doesn’t feel right.

Can the goal of this request already be achieved via other means?
